Saito Koji is a musician from Japan, specialized into long monotonous and minimal drone soundscapes stretched to the limit and beyond.
"Tokyo Morning Loop" is a perfect example of an auto-exhausting track. Saito Koji is talented enough to select the right-sounding warm and comforting drone loop and strike methodically the strings of his guitar to make accents at the right moment to keep us on the trajectory.
I do enjoy this netlabel release but if at first my mood is inflated in a positive way, slowly and particularly after 45 minutes (15 would have been the perfect length) a sense of deflation and dilution leaves me alone and lost on the shoulder of the road, expecting another hitchhike.
